2025 Top occurrences:

2026 as of March 23 YRP Reported Events: 32
People are reacting by adding security cameras, alarms and other crime deterrents.
Most of the events in our neighborhood seem to be "crimes of opportunity" although few have been targeted violent crimes.

York Regional Police have great content on crime prevention including Break-ins, Frauds and other helpful information in many safety areas.


Community Safety Data Portal includes multitude of tools:

Assist police investigations by registering your residential or commercial security cameras.
YRP will ask you for help when your camera could possibly catch some incident (YRP does not have access to your camera footage).

Neighbourhood Watch reduces crime through the active participation of citizens in crime prevention. It involves working with your neighbours to prevent crime before it starts
